when it comes to fashion, white pants in the fall may seem slightly out of the ordinary

For people who are a little timid when it comes to fashion, white pants in the fall may seem slightly out of the ordinary, but Rachel Smucker encourages self-expression in fashion, no matter the season.

"Fashion teaches me to be crafty and creative," the 18-year-old Conestoga Valley High School student of Lancaster said. "It also teaches me to keep an open mind."

Infatuated with her $1.50 Goodwill Timberland military boots and a pair of bowling shoes from a garage sale, Smucker is not usually found wearing the popular brands or shopping at the typical American teen stores. Goodwill and The Re-Uzit Shop are her favorite stores for the girl who says she cannot resist a good sale.

"Let's face it, I'm on a budget," Smucker said. "I can't resist a good bargain."

Known at her school as the trendsetter with a unique style, Smucker wanted to expand her love of fashion beyond the hallways, which she says "feel like runways." She recognized that the Internet would be a great forum to share her passion with a broader audience. A blog felt like the right move for her.

"Thinking back to when I first created my blog, it just seemed like the next obvious step toward pursuing a fashion-related career," Smucker said.

The title of the blog, "Inspire Me," was "profound, yet simplistic" according to the blogger who says she struggled to come up with an original title. When she finally reached her decision, however, she knew it was perfect choice. The blog's name suits its purpose, according to Smucker, who wanted the content to be inspirational to her followers and herself.

It filed a lawsuit against the designer fashion label Alexander McQueen

In decades past, the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club settled disputes the old-fashioned way, with a swift kick in the groin or a punch in the face to the offending party. On Monday, the outlaw club opted for a more civilized action. It filed a lawsuit against the designer fashion label Alexander McQueen, along with retailers Saks Fifth Avenue and Zappos, claiming they illegally sold McQueen items that use the trademarked Hells Angels name and death head design in rings, clutch purses, scarves and dresses.

“There’s no doubt in my mind the designer had seen the death head mark,” said Hells Angels’ intellectual property attorney, Fritz Clapp, who filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

One week prior, Clapp had received a text message from a club member’s fiancee who was shopping online and saw a “Hells four-finger ring” on Saksfifthavenue.com that was strikingly similar to the winged skull the club had used as its logo for decades. Clapp continued his online search and soon also found a “Hells knuckle duster” clutch purse for sale on Zappos.com.

“Then I go to Alexander McQueen’s site and I find not only is the word ‘Hells’ used on those things, but ‘Hells Angels,’ the whole phrase, on a pashmina scarf and a Jacquard dress,” Clapp said. “If you’d said to the designer, ‘Just give me a side view skull with feathers coming off of it and they’d never seen the death head or a Hells Angels patch and they’d just come from Mars, it’s still closer than comfort.”

Clapp said he opted to file a suit rather than send a cease-and- desist letter because “it has a certain instructive quality in the public and in the market: Advertisers and businesses and lawyers are reminded that the Hells Angels name and logo are protected marks, commercially as well as on the street.”

The Hells Angels lawsuit relies on a 1982 registration protecting the Hells Angels name and multiple registrations from 1984, 2002, 2007 and 2009 protecting the death head from being copied in jewelry, clocks, watches, earrings, key rings and other items without permission.

The newest lawsuit is the latest in a string of trademark infringement suits the club has filed since 1992, when the club sued Marvel Entertainment Group over a Hells Angels comic book; the suit was settled when Marvel changed the name of the comic to Dark Angel and donated $20,000 to Ronald McDonald’s charities. After subsequent lawsuits against a skateboard manufacturer and an action sportswear line, the club, in 2006, sued Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group for its potential portrayal of the club in the film "Wild Hogs." That suit was voluntarily dismissed.

The current lawsuit seeks the immediate removal of the Alexander McQueen items from sale and display. Spokespeople for Alexander McQueen and Saks Fifth Avenue had no comment on the suit.

The defendants have until Nov. 15 to respond to the complaint.

Luxury watchmakers are a good resource for authenticity history

Most collectible watches change hands in what Detroit private dealer and enthusiast Dwight Zahringer describes as a "gray market" of dealer-to-dealer and dealer-to-consumer networks.

A. Lange & Sohne's 1815 Moonphase is one of three limited editions watches to recently sell out.

Zahringer says the key is to buy a watch at the right time—now is one of those times due to the financial crisis-induced slowdown—and have the patience to hold on for months or years to yield a good return.

Engh once bought a watch for $31,000 then sold it a few years later for $100,000.

"Once a watch is sold it creates more demand and raises the price significantly," he says, adding that the Internet helps in communicating sales.

Experts say bargain prices for high-end timepieces are a warning sign of fraud. They recommend patronizing well-known dealers and researching them as much as the timepieces they are selling.

Luxury watchmakers are a good resource for tracking history and authenticity. A. Lange, which produces less than 1,000 watches per year, keeps a history of every watch they’re ever produced as well as a catalog of stolen watches.

The luxury-watch market is large enough to provide ample opportunities for would-be watch investors with realistic expectations.

"Any collectible's value is subject to change due to forces that may or may not be correlated with the economy," says financial advisor and watch collector Barry Zimmerman. "have to understand that not all watches have the same liquidity and valuations can be very subjective."

A Nevada judge has set a preliminary hearing for a fashion model from Hong Kong

A Nevada judge has set a preliminary hearing for a fashion model from Hong Kong who was arrested on a drug charge at the Burning Man counterculture festival over the Labor Day weekend.

Pershing County Deputy District Attorney Bryce Shields says Rosemary Vandenbroucke will not have to appear at the Feb. 9 hearing in Lovelock, which will determine whether there is enough evidence for trial.

The 28-year-old model also faces three misdemeanor charges related to crashing a rented motor home into Reno's landmark arch the day after her arrest at the desert festival 100 miles north of the city. That trial is set for Dec. 8 in Reno Municipal Court.

Her Reno lawyer, Tammy Riggs, says she maintains her innocence.

a brand best known for stylish

The new theory at Theory, a brand best known for stylish, workhorse professional clothes, is to put fashion-world darling Olivier Theyskens in charge of artistic direction.

The company announced the appointment of the former Rochas and Nina Ricci designer to the top design spot on Monday.

Theyskens had already started a capsule collection as a brand collaborator for the upcoming spring season, but this deal puts him in charge of all Theory collections starting with fall 2011.

"It is really exciting to be able to offer my point of view as a designer to a brand that holds a leading role in contemporary fashion. Working on all collections of Theory as well as Theyskens' Theory will enable me to explore various design directions and express my creativity in a new and broader way," Theyskens said in a statement.

Theory founder and CEO Andrew Rosen said he finds the work of the Belgian-born, 33-year-old to be "inspiring."

Theyskens won the Council of Fashion Designers of America award for international designer of the year in 2006, and earlier this year worked with publisher Assouline and photographer Julien Claessens on "The Other Side of the Picture," a coffee-table book that showed off fashion shows from the point of view of an artistic insider.

"His energy and creativity will provide a new spark for the organization, and for the whole Contemporary marketplace," Rosen said.

The limited edition dresses were showcased

The party marked the official launch of ten dresses each by former Fashion East designers including Jonathan Saunders, Marios Schwab, Roksanda Ilincic, Richard Nicoll, House of Holland and Louise Gray. Potent tropical cocktails flowed as the Brit pack designers helped Lulu celebrate this momentous milestone.

Transforming the top floor of the department store with extravagant Hawaiian themed decorations, the party came complete with Bistrotheque restaurant’s corrugated beach hut ‘Bistrotaco’ serving the hungry fashion crowd tacos and burritos while Henry Holland and Princess Julia hit the decks.

The limited edition dresses were showcased on each of the designer’s chosen muses- Pixie Geldof in House of Holland’s printed jumper dress, Josephine de la Baume in an elegantly structured Richard Nicoll number and Jade Parfitt in a stand-out Holly Fulton maxi while ‘Fashion’s Fairy Godmother Lulu’ opted for a colourful, flowing Jonathan Saunders gown. Gareth Pugh and Louise Gray were sadly absent but models Poppy Delevigne and Edie Campbell made sure their dresses didn’t go unnoticed.

With the collection in high demand and sold exclusively at Harvey Nichols’ London store, we’re already looking forward to what next season will offer.

Downtown Dolls And Hollywood Dreams

LA Fashion Week has enough obstacles to overcome without wet weather and disorganization, but this past weekend, that's exactly what local fashionistas had to contend with. In addition to various boutique happenings, two events went head-to-head this season, "Concept" in downtown LA, and "LA Fashion Weekend" at Sunset Gower Studios. Both represented Los Angeles style spheres in different ways, each defined by its locale: Sunset/Gower going for the glitz and Concept being an artsy alternative.

Though Gower featured some interesting sounding presentations (we would have attended The Green Initiative Humanitarian Show had it not been so early on Saturday), there were two shows we actually wanted to see (Joy Rich and White Trash Beautiful). We didn't, the main reason being an aggravating one-- email confirmation for one was received literally a few hours before runway time and we didn't even hear back from the other. Surprising, considering this event was thrown by The Gallery LA, an events and marketing company helmed by Mikey Koffman, who appeared to run a tight ship, as portrayed on Showtime's The L Word.

Rebound in global luxury sales

The luxury sector is rebounding better-than-expected this year thanks in large part to wealthy Americans replenishing their wardrobes after a year of self-denial and nouveau riche Chinese indulging in a worldwide spending spree, according to a new study released Monday.

Sales of designer clothes, fine leather goods, jewelry, watches and other indulgences around the globe is forecast to surge 10% to e168 billion ($236.7 billion) in 2010, recovering from a disastrous 2009 when sales declined 8% to e153 billion, Bain & Co. said in its annual review of the sector commissioned by Italy's Fondazione Altagamma association of high-end producers.

“It is really impressive how customers have rebounded in their approach to these purchases, in particular in the United States and in Europe,” said Bain partner and luxury goods expert Claudia D'Arpizio .

Sales in the US market were up by 12%, compared with 6% growth in Europe and 22% growth in Asia, Bain said.

Asian luxury sales were powered by China where sales grew by a whopping 30% and poising China to become the third largest luxury market in five years. Japan recorded a 1% contraction. But the real story in Asia are the Chinese tourists, who have extended their spending-fueled travels beyond Asia.

Luxury Brand's Sales Growth Slows Amid China Push

LUXURY group Burberry expects full-year profits in the top half of analysts' forecasts, after a 21 per cent rise in first-half revenue boosted by strong sales of coats and leather goods in Asia and Europe.

Luxury goods firms have mostly enjoyed a strong 2010 so far as the world economy moved out of recession. But moves in many countries to rein in government borrowing, like higher taxes and spending cuts, have raised fears demand will slow again.

LVMH, the world's number one luxury group, reports third-quarter sales figures on Thursday.

Best known for its camel, red and black check pattern, Burberry weathered the recent economic downturn better than many rivals thanks to a quick response which saw it slash costs, jobs, stocks and ranges.

It has since stepped up investment, focussing on emerging markets, e-commerce and menswear, and is reaping the benefits.

Burberry's shares, which have periodically benefited from takeover speculation, have risen around 75 per cent this year, outperforming the STOXX 600 European household and personal goods sector .SXQP by about 45 percent.

Burberry said comparable store sales rose 8 per cent in the second quarter, down from 10 percent in the first, and that it expected a 25 per cent increase in selling space in the second half, with the bulk coming from stores it bought from its Chinese franchise partner.

Autumn fashion is a bit more complex than summer styles

Autumn fashion is a bit more complex than summer styles. You’ll need comfort and warmth as well as versatility indoors and out, and yet retaining a bit of fashion without loosing efficiency. Let’s work from the head downwards to the toes. Your hair, in summer, is usually in a ponytail or otherwise off your body to reduce heat. In fall, lock curly locks add weight and charm. To soften the look, pair longer, fuller hair with thicker sunglasses, making the proportions more accurate.

Moving down, full sweaters can add bulk without adding much fashion, instead layers are a stylish way to reveal your shape while still staying warm. Pairing a low-cut V-neck sweater with a lace undershirt could be chilly, but add a thin scarf and you are seasonally appropriate and the added piece of flare gives you style credit and a chance to add color and texture into your wardrobe. Minimize the jewelry in fall, instead focusing on larger splashes like the scarf or a charming belt.

A snappy Gucci collection opened the Milan fashion week

MILAN – A snappy replica hermes collection opened the Milan fashion week and set the mood for the spring-summer 2011 — Italian style.

Outlandish fashion falls flat in these days of crisis, with designers preferring a return to the "oldies but goodies," which don't have to pass the test of time.

Frida Giannini, the Roman designer who took over the reins at Gucci several years ago, dips into the horsey past of the Florentine house for inspiration, especially for her handbags, but never succumbs to nostalgia.

The 1970's glam is most evident in a series of hot evening dresses in colorful metallic satin with intricate fringe detailing. Daytime is cinched by a gold belt with playful tassels.

Tassels also play a major role in the bag department. Mini shoulder bags with prominent stitching are decorated with tassels, as is the new "Snaffle Bit Bag" which harks back to the original saddle bag with horse-bit clasp. A darker version of the famous bamboo handle is another tribute to past Gucci glory.

As much as we may love an oversized handbag

As much as we may love an oversized handbag, sometimes an occasion, or an outfit, calls for a smaller bag that still packs personality. That's when you go for replica hermes Alligator Sling Bag.

It's heavily embellished with brass hardware which surprisingly doesn't feel overdone or cheapen the bag's rockstar appeal. However, alligator provides such texture and depth and combined with a warm color palette, Burberry's Sling Bag would be equally exceptional, if not more, without embellishments.

In addition to a rolled shoulder handle, there's also a detachable flat shoulder strap. The interior is lined with sateen and features a zipped pocket. Also available in ink (navy blue) with black metal hardware. Measurements: 15 1/2" L x 7 1/4" H x 1 1/2" W.

Linea Pelle Suede Fringe Keychain

Linea Pelle is known for creating luxury leather and suede belts, replica hermes handbags, and other accessories the celebrities and fashion insiders love.

The Alex Suede Vintage Fringe Mini purse caused quite a stir because the boho-chic remains a coveted look. However, that much fringe can be difficult to carry off for some women. That’s why we like the Linea Pelle Suede Fringe Keychain.

It gives a small dose of bohemian style without turning the wearer into a modern-day hippie (not that there’s anything wrong with that). This keychain will add some glam-chic to your keys and help you find them in that cavernous bag of yours. What’s even better?

This is the best fabric to use on purses also

Given the high price of luxury replica hermes handbags, most women would consider them investments. Certainly, the boom in portable purse hangers are an indication that women want to protect their handbags from placement on floors while we're out at restaurants, but is squeezing them onto a shelf at home any better? Exposure to light, dust and heat will all degrade your bag's appearance over time.

Leslie Fuller, a self-professed handbag freak, has built her Bagadocious brand on protecting bags, boots and shoes from the scuffs and wear of simply storing them, with custom-designed, protective bags made of breathable, 100 percent natural fabric.

"Before I began storing my purses correctly, they would be hard and dry-looking when I would open the bin I stored them in for approximately four months," she said via e-mail interview. "They would be just dropped into this bin with no thought of how they would look. I would say a little prayer for them to be all right when I opened the bin.

She started taking notes as to fabrics designers used for their dust bags and said: "I went a little farther and bought a plusher flannel fabric to create my bags. If you ever noticed the shining cloth used by people to shine shoes, it's flannel. This is the best fabric to use on purses also."

This is a story about a woman and a coveted handbag

This is a story about a woman and a coveted handbag, but unlike most other stories about women and coveted replica hermes, Gigi Karmous-Edwards designed hers.

Her Uvo (pronounced You-vo) is a luxury bag, made of exotic leathers in an eye-catching shape. Uvo comes from the Italian word for egg, meant to evoke life, rebirth and renewal, themes that resonate in Karmous-Edwards' story. And it came about, in a way, because of Oprah.

Karmous-Edwards has always liked style. "I love the complete creativity fashion offers," she says. She even remembers the outfit her stylish mom put her in when their family emigrated from Egypt in 1968: A pale pink suit, navy blue and pink striped turtleneck and matching stockings.

She liked math, physics and chemistry, too, and because she grew up with parents who were in engineering, that's the direction her career took. Yet her desire for flair didn't wane. After she got her degree in chemical engineering from N.C. State, she interviewed with chemical companies. "They wanted me in process engineering, but that would mean wearing a hard hat. So I went to grad school so I could keep my style."

Distinguish Fake Hermes and Real One

There is no doubt that ladies love fashion. Almost every girl dreams of possessing a LV, Gucci, Hermes, Fendi. In the present society, fake products are hither and thither. As customers, maybe you are worried about being cheated. Don’t worry, here are some tips to distinguish a fake one and a real one.

To search for a “H” in the detail

On any handle of a Hermes canvas bag, you can see a “H” logo clearly. The logo “H” is made in the procedure of cotton weaving rather than embroid after finishing weaving cotton, therefore, it’s more expensive. A fake one is usually made roughly. Besides, on the root of the handle and the zip, you can also find a “H” clearly. However, before 1965, there is no “H” logo in Hermes. As a result, this “H” logo is not the most important factor in distinguishing a real Hermes.

To see the grains, As usual, an ordinary bag is made in the way of stockinet weaving. But Hermes prefers another way. When you approach to a Hermes bag, you can find that it is made by two different sides of grains. A fake one will never reach such a height in bag making. With such special grains, the price is surely higher than other bags.

Be careful of the numbers,While making a Hermes bag, craftsman will always follow the tradition —make the best one. Each bag is made by a craftsman. He has to put a number on the bag. In one way, it’s convenient for customers to get the bag repaired. In another, it shows us how proud the craftsman feels about his work. They believe that they create a excellent thing. Each Hermes gets a unique number to show its dignity to people all over the world. Hermes watch is so glorious. If you want a real Hermes, please follow the tips. I believe that you will get your dream bag certainly.Of course, for it’s high price, more and more people chosee high quality replica watches for saving money. It’s cheap but high quality in watchlux.com. You can’t miss it!

the first in the U.S. to feature a designated men's accessories section.

The 1,825-square-foot boutique boasts the same undulating ribbed white walls, slate-gray granite floors and steel accents that mingle so harmoniously in the Peter Marino-designed Fendi flagship on Rodeo Drive.

But the Beverly Center boutique also features a striking amber-colored glass facade incorporating a backlit pair of puzzle-piece-style double-Fs, the brand's logo. (The amber glass "is an important new architectural concept for our boutiques globally," said Stacy Van Praagh, president of Fendi.)

The men's section, which occupies half of the front room in the two-room store, features the label's famously slick formal shoes and casual kicks, replica hermes, man-bags, jewelry and sunglasses.

"The Beverly Center has a strong men's offering and drives a large, diverse male client into the center," Van Praagh said. "We see a nice opportunity for this developing category of business." Prices for men's accessories range from around $275 for a Zucca jacquard belt to more than $1,500 for travel bags.
